Viva Ronaldo for Justin Moose and The John 'O Shea chant could work with Ansou Toure.

I'm not sure if this is to corporate for some, but as a show of a good faith (an olive branch if you will), what if on goal kicks instead of "You fat bastard!: We say, "The Fox Rocks!?"

I have a new favorite chant after watching the Atletico Madrid v Porto Champions League game yesterday. The Atletico supporters were signing it so loudly when they were up 2-1. It is really catchy and simple and I don't think any other North American supporters groups are using it.

All we have to do is change the words 'Te Quiero Atleti' to something. Doesn't even have to be the same number of syllables.

I like the Korean and Japanese versions we've seen.  Very similar, but with familiar tunes.

Here we go. I've dusted off the ol' Yaletownshane song book. Here are some of my fav's that haven't been mentioned yet:

SINGIN' THE BLUES
Sounds like...

"I never felt more like singin' the blue,
than when Vancouver win & ____ lose.
Oh Whitecaps, you've got me singin' the blues."

"We hate John Carver* & all of the reds.
The only good Toronto* fan's the one that's dead.
Oh Whitecaps, you've got me singin' the blues."

* Substitute any other manager & team here.

HELLO, HELLO
-directed at visiting supporters

"Hello. Hello. We are the Whitecaps boys.
Hello. Hello. We are the Whitecaps boys,
And if you are a _____ fan
Surrender or you'll die.
We all follow the whitecaps."

SIT DOWN SHUT UP
-Directed at rowdy/mouthy visiting supporters
-Sung to this tune.

"Sit down shut up.
Sit down shut up.
Sit down shut up
Sit down shut up...."
(repeat until it takes effect)

QUE SERA, SERA
-Sung when are winning near the end of time.
-Sung to this.

"Que sera, sera.
Whatever will be will be.
We've beaten you again you see.
Que sera, sera."

Ok, OK. I've got to sleep but I'll try to top this up later on.
In the meantime I'll leave you with this.
It's from last season when my Rovers played away to Leeds. Notoriously hostile crowd and they tried to drown out the small Rovers contingent...with limited result. Up the Gas!!

Nice one Shane Clap I love those!

Here are a few I like:

“Drink Drink

Where ever you may be

We are the drunk and disorderly

and we don't give a damn

and we don't give a f___

cause we are coming home with the USL Cup.”

Sung to the tune Lord of the dance.

Sung by us whenever we  want.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejeyoqH_Gg0

“And its no ney never

No ney never no more

cause you won't beat Jay Nolly

You'll never score”

Sung to the tune Wild Rover

Sung when we want to show support for Nolly or when we want to taunt the opposition when they can't score.

This one is a Hammer original as far as I know.

We all hate Portland.
We all hate Portland.
33 years. F**k all!
33 years F**k all!
33 years F**k all!
33 years F**k all!

SING A SONG FOR YOU
-Directed at visiting fans that are being quite. Also a good follow up to "Sit down shut up."
-Sung like this.

"Shall we sing a
Shall we sing a
Shall we sing a song for you?
Shall we sing a song for you?"

WE LOVE YOU WHITECAPS

He's F**kin' brilliant."

LA, LA, LAAA 86!
-Really easy to learn and sing when you've had a few
-Sung like the chorus in Hey Jude.

"Laaa la la la-la-la,
La-la-la laaa.
eight-six...."
(repeat)

VANCOUVER TILL I DIE
-Sung like this.

"Vancouver till I die.
Vancouver till I die.
I know I am.
I'm sure I am.
Vancouver till I die."

WHEN THE CAPS GO MARCHING IN
-Sung like this.

"Oh when the 'Cap's.
Go marching in.
When the 'Caps go marching in.
I want to be in that number.
When the 'Caps go marching in."

I have many more that I'll post later but half times over and the game's calling me back.

In the meantime, I stumbled on this little video that's a great shout out to our very own Simon Fudge. This One's for you Fudgy!!

The Cleveland City Stars have signed goalkeeper Evan Bush from the University of Akron. The native of Concord, OH played his high school ball at Lake Catholic High School in Mentor.

I so hope we get our hands on some Bush in the south side.  LOL  Our research is done for us to:

That's brilliant.

I have occasionally tried to get people in the east stand to sing "There's only one ...." to the Guantanamera tune.   A few actually joined in for Charles Gbeke in the final.

And I still like "You fat bastard."  I know it doesn't entirely make sense, but I'd hate to see a tradition changed.   Even when the Southside has been at its lowest ebb, that chant has rung out across Swangard.  At a minimum, it should be kept until we go to BC Place, when a new home might mean a new tradition.

add another vote for "fat bastard". it's tradition.

For teams/goal keepers with black in their jersey
If you're (insert colour here) and black
And your mom's on her back
you're (a burpo/from Portland/etc)

Some old player-specific chants no longer useful, but still fun to have on here:

Vitalis "Digital" Takawira
Analog, Analog, Analog.....

Lutz "Malaysian Jail" Pfannenstiel <--my very favourite visiting player
Malaysian Jail, how sweet the sound...

Pfannenstiel, Pfannenstiel
Tell us, how does your rectum feel?
Nanana Nanana Nana

Was there one about dropping the soap?

Who ate all the pies?
